Newsletter – Week 9/10 – Second Term 2016/2017

Dear parents

Hope you are having a wonderful week. The Second Term examinations have started well and are expected to conclude on Thursday, 30^th March 2017.

Please find below an update on the last fortnight’s activities.

‘International Women’s Day’ was observed in school on Wednesday, 8^th of March 2017. Jumai Niagwan, a 2007 alumna of Vivian Fowler Memorial College for Girls, conducted an interactive workshop for our students on what it takes to be an entrepreneur. Jumai works full time for Ikeja DISCO and also has her own Ice cream and Milkshake company. To encourage the young entrepreneur and also to celebrate the girl child, the school management treated all the students and staff of the school to Ice cream and Milk shake.

On Saturday, 11^th March 2017, our senior team comprising of Abisola Akinsete (SS3) and Moyosola Oguntimehin (SS1) placed 1^st at the AISEN inter-school Math Quiz competition held at Avi-Cenna International School, G.R.A, Ikeja. 17 schools participated in the competition.

JSS3 students went on an excursion to the Federal Institute of Industrial Training, Oshodi, Lagos on Monday, 13^th March 2017.

On Wednesday, 15^th March 2017, twenty senior students attended the Continuing Education and Career Fair at Chrisland School, Opebi, Ikeja.

The SS2 Arts students visited the National Theatre, Iganmu, Lagos on Friday, 17^th March 2017.

The school elections took place on Friday, 17^th March 2017.

On Saturday, 18^th March 2017, our students attended the 2017 Career Expo organized by Greensprings School, Anthony Village Campus.

Entrance Examinations for admission into JSS1 (2017/2018 session) were administered on Saturday, 18^th March 2017. Interviews for candidates who passed the examination will take place on Saturday, 25^th March 2017.

Supplementary Entrance Examinations will be administered on Saturday, 17^th June 2017 and Saturday, 15^th July 2017.

Please note that JSS1 – SS2 students finish their second term exams on Thursday, 30^th March 2017 and vacate for the Easter holidays on 31^st March 2017 at 12 noon.

Easter Break for SS3 students: SS3 students will observe Easter break from Friday, 14^th April 2017 to Monday, 17^th April 2017. Boarders should be picked up at 4.00 pm on Thursday, 13^th April 2017.

Checkpoint extension classes for JSS3 students will be held in school from Tuesday, 18^th April 2017 to Friday, 21^st April 2017, 8.00 am to 4.00 pm.

SS3 and JSS3 boarders should report to the hostel before 6.00 pm on Monday, 17^th April 2017.
