Please find below an overview of the activities at Vivian Fowler Memorial College from 14th October to 22nd October 2016

ACADEMICS:
The second round of formative assessments (Test 2, week 5) were concluded on Friday, 21st October 2016..

EXCURSION:
The SS2 Geography and Agric.Science students went on an excursion to the Nigerian Meteorological Agency, Oshodi, on Thursday, 20th October 2016.

 

EVENTS:

  • On Saturday, 15th October 2016, the 1st PTF meeting for this academic session was held in the school hall. The PTF executive committee had organized a free health check for all parents and teachers by Ikeja Medical Centre, in the school premises.
  • The Junior Science Fair held on Wednesday, 19th October 2016 was a great success, with our students putting up an excellent show. A lot of research and hard work had gone into the projects, which focused on presenting simple solutions to everyday problems. The projects included a TV Antenna fashioned out of local materials, electricity from coconut water and potatoes, bio gas from organic wastes, Interlocking paving blocks made by our students, a chemical volcano, crystal garden, balloon car, electric motor and electric magnet. Some of our students had developed a website and also produced a short animation film. The students impressed the visiting parents with their depth of knowledge as well as presentation skills.
  • Vivian Fowler Memorial College for Girls Junior debate team won first prize at the BB Garg Memorial Debate organised by Indian Language School, Ilupeju on Saturday, 22nd October 2016.

Doyinsola Ogunshola was declared the best speaker while Ibukun Adetola shared the second best speaker prize with a student from Indian Language School.

We say congratulations to our debate team.

MID-TERM BREAK:
The students go home for mid-term break on Friday, 28th October 2016 at 12 noon.

They will be given a limited number of assignments for the break and parents are requested to ensure that the assignments are completed and submitted immediately after resumption.

The students’ exercise books and workbooks will be retained by the school for mid-term break to enable us check them thoroughly for completion and correction.
