Co-Curricular activities

We believe that our girls should have the opportunity to learn, not only in the classroom but also by making use of the beautiful environment in which we live. The students are encouraged to participate in a wide variety of co-curricular activities aimed at healthy interaction as well as preparing them for leadership roles.
Some of the clubs available in the school are: The Girl Guides, Red Cross Society, Choir, Literary and Debating Society, JETS, Chess, Scrabble, Drama and Language.

To achieve our objective of all-round development and broaden our students’ horizons, excursions and field trips to places of cultural, historical and intellectual significance within the country and abroad, are an integral part of our curriculum delivery.

Boarding Facilities

The College Hostels are roomy and befittingly furnished, with emphasis on comfort and security.

A home away from home, the boarding house provides a conducive learning environment during the week and a relaxing routine of rest, recreation and sports in the weekend. There are indoor games as well as Video/TV facilities in the common room for relaxation.

The hostel is open to students of different faiths and no one is compelled to follow any particular form of worship. On Sundays, students are taken to places of worship; Anglicans, Catholics and Pentecostals all have opportunities to worship in a Church of their denomination. Muslims worship on Fridays and are also taken to NASFAT on Sundays.

Laboratories

The college maintains well-equipped and modern laboratories for Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Agricultural Science, Integrated Science and the Languages

Theory lessons complemented by practical work, form the backbone of learning at the college.

Information and Communication Technology (ICT)

Our State-of-the Art laboratory functions as a hub of Educational Technology for students to learn programming and coding skills.

Workshops

Students learn the use of simple machines and tools in the Basic technology workshop. The seniors acquire practical skills in the use of drawing tools in the Technical Drawing workshop.

Robotics

Our STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) hub provides inspiration for our design thinkers. The Robotics lab is a stimulating environment that houses our World Class Robotics program.

Art & Culture

Our art and music workshops are well-equipped and inspire creativity.

Our students are exposed to various forms of visual and performing arts including drawing, painting, digital art, photography, music and dance.

Clothing and Textiles

The Clothing and textiles studio is a well laid out space for our aspiring fashion-designers and dressmakers. The practical sessions take students through the rudiments of textile design and give them an edge in the world of work.

Home Economics

The Home Economics laboratory is a space for our students to learn the rudiments of nutrition, home management and catering crafts.

Students have the opportunity to learn basic cooking skills and experiment with diverse local and international cuisine. In addition, they also learn how to make products like soap, pomade and detergents at home.

Music Room

“Music education opens doors that help children pass from school into the world around them – a world of work, culture, intellectual activity, and human involvement”. The Music Room is equipped with various essential instruments including Guitars, a Drum set, Piano, Organ, Violins, Cellos, trumpets and Saxophones. Talented and interested students can join the college choral group The Golden Voices. Students are also encouraged to be a part of the school orchestra, which trains twice a week.

Mathematics Laboratory

The Mathematics Laboratory has a wide collection of manipulatives to assist our mathematics faculty in ensuring that core principles guiding the subject are delivered through practical illustrations, use of examples and effective classroom-level interactions. The laboratory also provides our students with timely access to geometric objects that enhance the easy explanation of shape-related topics.

This shared learning environment enhances the confidence levels of our students that in turn boosts their ability to handle more difficult examples.

Geography

The Geography Laboratory allows the effective dissemination of the theoretical aspects of the course through the use of study tools such as the globe, maps and charts.

School Library

The purpose-built, two decked library and resource centre is an eloquent testimony to the high premium the college places on scholarship and productive self research. It is adequately stocked with books, newspapers, periodicals, journals and encyclopaedias, serving as a valuable resource centre for staff and students.
The library is also equipped with a Smart TV and computers through which students and staff can access online resources including digital libraries.

Health Facilities

The college operates a well-equipped sickbay under the supervision of a qualified nurse. In addition, the college is affiliated to Humana Hospital in Ogba, where students are taken in cases of serious illnesses and emergencies.

It is mandatory that every new student presents a medical report/fitness certificate from a recognized hospital, on resumption at the school.

We also insist that all drugs and medicaments brought into the school by any student be handed over to the school’s medical personnel with the family doctor’s instructions.

Our Mini Zoo

The School maintains a mini-zoological garden, which houses a Chimpanzee, Monkeys, Birds, Crocodiles, Tortoises and Peacocks.
